2016: leise brüllen

Description

«leise brüllen», a pedagogical work of art in collaboration with a school in Windisch, Argovia (Middle and High School)

The leitmotiv of the leise brüllen art project with its border- and category-crossing elements represents contrasts and differences, which contain externally formal attributions as well as differing feelings, states of emotion and sensory expressions. In the course of the work with the young students the contrasts are both complemented and enhanced through the use of additional concepts and interpretations.

The contrasts are intentional: They continue throughout the performance and appear contextually and formally in the dance, the music and the visual aspects.
The allure of the project lies in the juxtaposition and perception of contrasts. The project's challenge consists of demanding a large degree of variety and liveliness and implementing them in discrete artistic forms of expression.

Opposites produce tension and friction; sometimes they can and want to complement each other and form one entity. They attract and reject each other, thus triggering action and motion.
Through various forms of art the project will examine questions about visible, audible and perceivable contrasts and differences and elaborate suitable creative applications.

Teachers and artists from various art categories collaborate closely, working with both whole-class and small-group formats. In intensive workshops and weekly lessons integrated into the regular school curriculum from January to May 2016, the artists - together with the children, young adults, and teachers - develop the complex art project. The important pedagogical aspect and unique value of the project lies in the opportunity to integrate the artistic and thematic examination into the regular school routine over the course of several months. Focusing on the integrative social aspect is as important as focusing on the artistic concept.

In order to take this total work of art outside of school and to show it to the public at large, it will be performed from May 27th to June 1st, 2016 in the minster of Königsfelden in Windisch, Kanton of Argovia.
